Overview

Are you tired of security tools that slow you down instead of helping you ship? At Socket, we are fixing that exact problem. Thousands of organizations, ranging from early pioneers like Anthropic and Vercel to fast-growing startups, trust us to handle open source security without the usual headache. Founded by Feross Aboukhadijeh, whose open source code reaches billions of downloads monthly, we are backed by 125 million dollars in funding from top tier investors. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our fully remote, worldwide team and help us build the future of software supply chain security.

Key Responsibilities

You will move fast, prioritize ruthlessly, and keep the end user front and center in everything you do. Your voice will directly shape our product roadmap, making decisions that have an immediate and far-reaching impact on developers worldwide. Working closely with engineering and design, you will write clean code, help define our core technical architecture, and establish foundational frameworks from the ground up. Beyond shipping great products, you will play a vital role in shaping our early engineering culture and helping us scale the team thoughtfully.

Requirements

We care more about what you can build and how you think than a rigid list of credentials. You should have a proven track record of shipping complex software products quickly and independently. Strong backend or full-stack engineering skills are essential, along with a genuine passion for developer tools and security. Because we operate as a distributed global team, you need excellent async communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where autonomy is expected and celebrated.

What You'll Gain

You will get a front-row seat to building a category-defining company at its genesis. This means generous equity, competitive compensation, and complete location independence since we are a remote-first team. Most importantly, you will work with smart, down-to-earth people who genuinely care about making the developer experience better every single day.
