Sr. Manager, Global People Tech & Data (Remote, CA)

Are you a visionary leader ready to sculpt the future of how a global company empowers its people through technology? Calian is searching for an exceptional individual to join us as our Sr. Manager, Global People Technology & Data. Imagine building a crucial function from the ground up, transforming scattered systems and manual workflows into a seamless, intelligent employee experience across the globe. This isn't just a job; it's a chance to make a lasting impact, leading digital transformation within a rapidly evolving organization. If you thrive on innovation, enjoy tackling complex challenges, and are eager to shape our global People Technology landscape, then this fully remote, worldwide opportunity is precisely what you’ve been waiting for.

Overview

As the Sr. Manager, Global People Technology & Data, you will spearhead the establishment of Calian's entire Global People Technology function. This means crafting the overarching strategy, defining the roadmap, and curating the technology ecosystem that underpins our global workforce. This is a truly unique leadership role, offering the chance to move beyond fragmented processes and disconnected data. You will instead create an integrated, scalable, and intelligent employee journey that supports every aspect of their lifecycle.

Reporting to the Director, Global HR Operations, you will engage with a diverse group of stakeholders, including Human Resources, Information Services, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and various business leaders. Your mission will be to drive digital transformation and innovation across all employee touchpoints. This includes overseeing the evolution of our critical systems, from the core HRIS and recruitment platforms to payroll solutions, workforce analytics, automation initiatives, AI-enabled tools, and enriching digital employee experiences. We are looking for a hands-on strategist and builder, someone who thrives amidst ambiguity, champions innovation, and is genuinely excited by the prospect of shaping the future of People Technology on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year Global People Technology strategy and detailed roadmap, ensuring alignment with Calian’s strategic objectives and business growth.
  • Lead the end-to-end evaluation, selection, implementation, and optimization of core People Technology systems, including HRIS, applicant tracking systems, payroll platforms, and performance management tools.
  • Establish robust data governance frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, security, compliance, and integrity across all People systems.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of People Technology specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Partner closely with HR, IT, Finance, and business leaders to understand evolving needs, identify technology solutions, and drive adoption.
  • Design and implement advanced workforce analytics and reporting capabilities to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Champion the adoption of automation and AI-enabled solutions to streamline HR processes and enhance the employee experience.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for all People Technology solutions, ensuring service level agreements are met and value is maximized.
  • Stay abreast of emerging People Technology trends and innovations, continually assessing opportunities to enhance Calian’s digital HR landscape.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience, typically 8+ years, in People Technology, HRIS, or HR Operations, with a significant portion in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling People Technology functions from the ground up within a global organization.
  • Deep expertise in HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM) and other core HR technologies.
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, compensation, benefits, and performance management.
  • Proven track record of managing complex technology implementation projects, including vendor selection, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and change management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience leading and developing a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to change, and drive innovation in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

What You'll Gain

  • The extraordinary opportunity to build and shape a critical global function from its very inception.
  • A pivotal role in driving digital transformation and innovation across Calian’s worldwide operations.
  • Exposure to a diverse global workforce and complex organizational challenges, fostering significant professional growth.
  • The chance to lead and inspire a growing team, leaving a tangible legacy on Calian’s employee experience.
  • A collaborative and dynamic work environment where your strategic vision and hands-on contributions are truly valued.
  • Fully remote work flexibility, allowing you to thrive professionally from anywhere in the world.
