Step into an international team dedicated to solving one of the most exciting and demanding challenges in the automotive industry: successfully bringing highly automated driving into series production. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from technical development and various cross functional teams, all contributing to the groundbreaking development of the ID. Buzz AD (Autonomous Driving). Ensuring safety, especially regarding behavioral aspects (SOTIF), forms a critical phase in creating these advanced vehicles. The relevant standard, ISO 21448, demands continuous innovation in processes and technologies. You will be instrumental in implementing, assessing, and refining these crucial elements, working hand in hand with our technical development teams and external partners. This is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity, allowing you to contribute your expertise from wherever you are.
Key Responsibilities
As a SOTIF Expert, your main responsibilities will empower you to:
- Identify and develop essential process steps, methods, and tools, including milestones, to enable effective SOTIF implementation.
- Implement, assess, and refine SOTIF-relevant safety processes, methods, and artifacts in close collaboration with development teams.
- Develop and rigorously assess new technologies and methodologies designed to analyze and validate the safety of automated driving software systems and their functional components.
- Contribute to the continuous advancement of SOTIF processes and technologies, ensuring compliance with ISO 21448.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate SOTIF requirements into the overall vehicle development lifecycle.
- Analyze potential safety risks related to unknown and unforeseeable scenarios in autonomous driving and devise mitigation strategies.
Requirements
To excel in this role, we anticipate you will bring a strong background and specific qualifications, including:
- Proven expertise in SOTIF (Safety Of The Intended Functionality) as defined by ISO 21448.
- Significant experience in automotive safety, particularly within the domain of highly automated or autonomous driving systems.
- A strong understanding of safety processes, methods, and tools used in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in developing and evaluating technologies and methodologies for analyzing and validating complex software systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively within an international, cross functional team environment.
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is typically expected for this role.
