We are searching for a talented Software Engineer II to join our Database Engineering crew. In this role, you will help design, scale, and maintain the database tier that underpins our entire platform. You will work closely with application teams to ensure smooth data migrations, high availability, and rock solid reliability across our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Your day to day will focus on keeping our data layer fast, resilient, and ready for continuous growth. Typical duties include

Partnering with product engineering groups to review data models, refine database schema changes, and optimize complex queries
Monitoring database health, uptime, and latency across large distributed environments
Automating routine operational workflows, backups, disaster recovery drills, and failover scenarios
Troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and fine tuning connection pools, indexing strategies, and cache layers
Helping define best practices for database access patterns and data lifecycle management across our global services

Requirements

We want engineers who love solving data challenges and care deeply about system resilience. Ideal candidates bring experience with

Solid background in backend software development or dedicated database engineering
Hands on expertise with relational engines such as PostgreSQL or MySQL in production settings
Proven skill diagnosing query execution plans, index usage, and lock contention issues
Comfortable writing automation scripts with languages like Python, Go, or Ruby
Familiarity with cloud environments like AWS, particularly managed database tools and cloud infrastructure
Strong communication skills and the self direction needed to thrive in a distributed team setting
