We are at the forefront of powering a robust remittance platform, connecting users across borders with fast, intuitive, and rock-solid financial experiences.
This is a unique opportunity for a core contributor to shape the future of our frontend architecture. As a Software Engineer (Angular), you'll be instrumental in designing and building responsive, accessible interfaces that empower our customers to send money securely and efficiently, even in low-bandwidth environments. You'll thrive in a high-ownership role, working collaboratively with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to ship features that directly enhance the financial wellbeing of our users. This position offers the chance to make meaningful architectural decisions, mentor emerging talent, and significantly contribute to setting the benchmark for frontend engineering quality at Africhange.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Engineering:
- Build and maintain high-performance Angular components essential for our remittance, KYC flows, exchange rate displays, transaction history, and comprehensive account management features.
- Implement responsive, mobile-first user interfaces that deliver reliable performance across diverse device types and network conditions prevalent in diaspora markets.
- Seamlessly integrate with RESTful backend APIs to provide real-time data, including live exchange rates, wallet balances, and up-to-the-minute payment statuses.
- Contribute to the development of reusable component libraries and rigorously ensure the consistent adoption of our design system throughout the product.
Quality & Performance:
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, striving for high coverage across all critical payment flows to ensure reliability.
- Proactively profile and optimize Angular application performance, focusing on bundle size, efficient lazy loading, streamlined change detection, and resolving rendering bottlenecks.
- Actively participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and play a crucial role in elevating the overall engineering standards within the frontend team.
- Lead and contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), functional testing, and regression cycles prior to every release.
Collaboration & Delivery:
- Work in close collaboration with the design team, meticulously translating Figma mockups into pixel-precise, highly accessible user interfaces.
- Partner effectively with backend engineers to define clear API contracts, manage application state efficiently, and ensure smooth, end-to-end system integration.
- Participate actively in Agile SCRUM ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and product demos.
- Produce clear, concise technical documentation for components, modules, and significant architectural decisions.
- Coordinate effectively with third-party integration partners, such as payment processors and identity verification providers, regarding frontend integration requirements.
What We're Looking For (Specifications):
We are seeking candidates with demonstrable experience and proficiency in the following:
- Angular (v12+): Expertise in components, services, routing, reactive forms, and lazy loading.
