Actian's architecture team collaborates closely with our development specialists, tackling exciting challenges together. We are actively seeking a Software Architect to meticulously design and refine the core structure of our cloud platform. This critical role ensures our platform is not only efficient and scalable but also straightforward to extend, maintain, and operate across the globe. We need a proactive professional who deeply understands that our product must meet three crucial conditions: it must be inherently stable, meaning it gracefully handles failures without crashing; it must be incredibly efficient, preventing unexpected spikes in cloud expenditure; and it must be genuinely easy for our own developers to use. Your ultimate goal involves stripping away technical complexity and establishing clear guidelines, enabling our development teams to ship new features swiftly and with impeccable quality. Key Responsibilities

Cloud Platform Design: You will design, enhance, and continually improve the cloud infrastructure on leading platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. This includes our comprehensive data platform, ensuring seamless performance and reliability for numerous clients concurrently.
Stability & Fault Tolerance: Develop and implement systems engineered to withstand failures, incorporating automatic recovery mechanisms. Your work will ensure continuous operation even when issues arise in a production environment.
Making Life Easy for Developers: Create clear, intuitive APIs, standardized templates, and essential common tools. This will significantly accelerate internal developer workflows and minimize coding errors.
Cloud Cost Control: Proactively monitor and meticulously optimize our cloud resource utilization, ensuring our operations remain cost-effective without compromising performance.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Software Architect or in a similar senior role, specifically with cloud platform design and implementation (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and principles of fault tolerance.
