Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive security control assessments, meticulously applying NIST frameworks.
Evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of security controls for HHS-ACF information systems.
Gather, organize, and meticulously document security assessment findings.
Identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses within the system's security posture.
Develop clear, concise reports that detail assessment results, identify risks, and offer actionable recommendations.
Collaborate closely with system owners, ISSOs, and other stakeholders to understand system architecture and operational context.
Provide expert guidance on security best practices and compliance requirements.
Support the continuous monitoring and improvement of existing security controls.
Assist in the development and refinement of security assessment methodologies.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Security Control Assessor or in a similar cybersecurity role.
Deep expertise in NIST Special Publications, particularly NIST SP 800-53 and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Strong understanding of federal information system security standards and compliance requirements, including FISMA and FedRAMP.
Experience with various security assessment tools and methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to quickly identify and address security gaps.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail in documentation and reporting.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple assessment projects concurrently, and meet tight deadlines.
Relevant cybersecurity certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+, are highly desirable.
A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates your expertise.
