As a Senior Staff Back-end Software Engineer, you will become a pivotal part of the Recomendação team within our Liga de Buyers. This team's core mission is to streamline the buyer's navigation and search journey, delivering smart, contextual ad suggestions in real time, thereby significantly boosting interaction across our platform. This role is fully remote, welcoming talent from anywhere in the world.

Key Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will:

Define and drive the technical vision and strategic roadmap for our real-time recommendation systems, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Architect, design, and implement highly scalable, resilient, and performant backend services that power our intelligent suggestion engine.
Lead complex, cross-functional engineering projects from inception through to successful deployment and ongoing optimization.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a talented team of engineers, elevating their skills and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to translate innovative ideas into impactful technical solutions.
Ensure the highest standards of reliability, observability, security, and operational efficiency for all recommendation services.
Research and integrate cutting-edge technologies and algorithms to continually enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our recommendation platform.
Contribute significantly to code reviews, system design discussions, and overall architectural decisions.

Requirements

We believe you'll be a great fit if you bring:

Extensive experience as a Senior Staff or Principal Back-end Software Engineer, ideally with a strong focus on large-scale distributed systems.
Deep expertise in designing, building, and operating high-performance recommendation engines, search systems, or similar data-intensive, real-time platforms.
Proficiency in modern backend programming languages and frameworks relevant to high-throughput services.
Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, system design principles, and software architecture patterns.
Experience with various database technologies, both relational and NoSQL.
