Senior Software Engineer, Fleet Team
Are you someone who thrives on tackling genuinely complex challenges, the kind where your code directly impacts real-world operations in critical environments? We’re not talking about simple data entry screens here. Defense Unicorns is searching for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our innovative Fleet team. You will craft the operational control surfaces for distributed systems across edge and remote environments, building intuitive interfaces that empower users to manage and operate vital assets. This is a chance to truly own the frontend experience, working across the entire stack to ensure every pixel, API call, and system behavior aligns perfectly. If you’re ready to build impactful, robust solutions for the most demanding contexts, then this is your moment.
Overview
Defense Unicorns is building the future of secure, distributed systems for vital national defense and intelligence missions. Our Fleet team plays a crucial role in this vision, focusing on developing and evolving Fleet Management and Edge Management capabilities within the Unified Defense Platform (UDS). As a Senior Software Engineer, you will dive deep into creating sophisticated, data-driven interfaces. These are not merely decorative UIs; they are the command centers users rely on to understand, manage, and operate complex systems in diverse and challenging environments. While your primary focus will be on driving the frontend experience, success in this role demands a strong full-stack awareness. You'll need to understand how data flows, how APIs are designed, and how your frontend decisions reverberate throughout the entire distributed system. You’ll work closely with backend engineers, platform specialists, and product designers to deliver responsive, reliable, and truly intuitive user experiences. This is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity, allowing you to contribute from wherever you are.
