Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Tokens & Wrapped Assets team within the Platform organization. This team is at the core of Coinbase's operations, responsible for creating and maintaining the robust platform that handles the issuance, wrapping, and transformation of every asset across our ecosystem. Imagine building the critical infrastructure behind flagship wrapped assets like cbBTC, spanning important blockchains such as Ethereum, Base, and Solana. This is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will be expected to:

Lead complex software projects from smart contract development through API design and full production rollout.
Design, develop, and operate highly reliable Go services that manage the lifecycle of digital assets.
Implement and maintain systems for minting, burning, bridging, and reconciling wrapped assets across various blockchain networks.
Collaborate closely with diverse teams, including product, design, and other engineering groups, to deliver impactful solutions.
Contribute to architectural discussions and drive technical decisions that ensure scalability and security.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in coding, testing, and system design.

Requirements

We are seeking someone with:

Extensive professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer, typically 5+ years, with a strong focus on distributed systems.
Proven expertise in Go for developing high performance, resilient services.
A deep understanding of blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and the intricacies of wrapped and tokenized assets.
Experience designing and operating critical production systems in a high growth environment.
Ability to take ownership of large, complex projects and drive them to successful completion independently.
Excellent problem solving skills and a commitment to secure, reliable software development.
