The Role: Senior Miller

As a Senior Miller at Olam Agri, you will be responsible for managing daily milling operations to ensure optimal plant efficiency, consistent product quality, and cost-effective production. This critical role involves operating advanced milling processes, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating essential maintenance activities, and maintaining absolute adherence to safety, hygiene, and strict quality standards. Furthermore, you will lead dedicated milling teams, manage spare parts and materials, and execute best practices to drive maximum operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee various facets of plant operations, focusing on the following key areas:

Daily Milling Operations: Manage daily operations to maximize plant performance, maintain extraction levels, and meet production plans.
Quality & Standards: Monitor process performance to ensure output meets strict quality, safety, and hygiene standards (including GMP, QMS, FSMS, and 5S).
Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment issues swiftly to optimize performance, minimize downtime, and coordinate scheduled maintenance.
Cost & Process Efficiency: Control operational overheads, minimize process waste, and actively support cost-optimization and budgeting initiatives.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and train milling teams to foster a culture of operational excellence and high performance.
Facility Management: Supervise vendor services (cleaning, waste disposal, maintenance) and ensure proper upkeep of plant premises and perimeter.

Requirements for the Role

To be considered for the Senior Miller position, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Food Science. A NABIMS certification or Diploma in Milling from a recognized milling school is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in wheat milling, with proven expertise in flour/feed production operations.
Leadership: Solid experience managing independent operations and leading diverse, multicultural teams.
Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of milling processes, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance coordination.
Competencies: Excellent communication, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
