The Opportunity: Senior Maintenance Lead
We are actively seeking an exceptionally accomplished and seasoned Senior Maintenance Lead to take charge of our extensive maintenance operations. This pivotal role is embedded within a long-term integrated maintenance contract, supporting a crucial FPSO, its associated wellhead platforms, and essential onshore facilities. As the second-in-command, you will play an indispensable role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of these vital assets. You will lead a diverse and dedicated multidisciplinary maintenance organization comprising approximately 70 skilled personnel, while also deputising for the Project Manager, providing crucial leadership and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities: What You'll Own and Drive
As the Senior Maintenance Lead, your ownership will span critical aspects of our operational success:
- Comprehensive Maintenance Programme: You will be responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of the entire maintenance lifecycle across all assets, encompassing preventive, corrective, condition-based maintenance, and critical shutdown planning and execution.
- CMMS Stewardship (MAXIMO): Genuine ownership of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is paramount. MAXIMO is our system of record, and you will ensure the highest quality of work orders, manage backlog effectively, assess criticality, optimize spares management, and maintain meticulous equipment history.
- Planning and Scheduling Excellence: This includes meticulous planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities, with a particular focus on the annual shutdown and diligent management of the planned maintenance hours budget.
- Safety Critical Element Assurance: You will drive the assurance process for safety critical elements, ensuring their integrity and reliability, and provide robust maintenance performance reporting.
- Client Technical Interface: Act as the primary technical interface with our valued client, a national oil company, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.
- Team Leadership and Development: Provide direct leadership and mentorship to both the offshore maintenance superintendent and the dedicated onshore technical support team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements: Who We Are Looking For
To thrive in this challenging yet rewarding role, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:
- Extensive Oil and Gas Experience: A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in oil and gas maintenance is required, with at least five (5) of those years specifically running a maintenance organization. Please note: project or commissioning work alone does not fulfill this requirement.
- FPSO/Floating Production Expertise: Direct, non-negotiable experience with FPSO or other floating production facilities, including deep understanding of mooring, hull, marine systems, and offloading operations.
- CMMS Mastery: Demonstrated genuine ownership and advanced proficiency with CMMS systems. Experience with MAXIMO is strongly preferred, while SAP or AMOS PM experience is also acceptable.
- Educational Background: An Engineering degree is essential. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional registration will be considered a significant advantage.
- Certifications: A valid BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) and an offshore medical certificate are mandatory.
- Regional Experience: Proven experience within the West Africa region is required.
- Specialized Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of rotating equipment and gas compression is highly beneficial. Experience with DNV class requirements, brownfield life extension projects, and contract mobilization will also be a distinct advantage.
