We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Crime Investigator to focus on our Business Banking side. This is a fully remote role you can do from anywhere in the world. You will be stepping in to protect our business customers from sophisticated financial threats while helping us build a safer financial ecosystem.

Overview

As a Senior Financial Crime Business Banking Investigator, you will serve as a crucial line of defence. You will untangle complex financial crimes, review suspicious activities, and ensure our business accounts remain secure. Your work directly protects our customers and allows Monzo to keep growing safely. We need someone who can spot patterns others miss and make confident calls under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate complex financial crime alerts and suspicious activity specifically within business banking accounts.
Review transactions and account behaviors to identify potential fraud, money laundering, and financial abuse.
Make timely and accurate decisions on account restrictions, closures, or escalations.
Collaborate with law enforcement and external agencies when necessary to report illicit activities.
Continuously improve our detection models and investigation processes by sharing insights from your daily casework.

Requirements

Proven experience in financial crime investigation, specifically within business banking or commercial fraud.
Deep understanding of anti money laundering regulations and fraud typologies relevant to the UK banking sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to sift through large amounts of data to find the truth.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for documenting cases and liaising with stakeholders.
A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
