As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in evolving our data infrastructure. You'll contribute to a human-centric approach, building the reliable, high-performance systems that empower data-driven decisions across our product, engineering, and business teams. This is a fully remote position, open to talented individuals from anywhere in the world who are passionate about data, security, and making a difference.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Build: Architect, develop, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and data infrastructure using modern data technologies.
Optimize Performance: Continuously improve the performance, cost efficiency, and operational excellence of our data platform.
Ensure Data Quality: Implement robust data quality checks and monitoring to ensure the integrity and trustworthiness of our data assets.
Collaborate and Support: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, product managers, and other engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
Mentor and Lead: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, championing best practices in data engineering and platform development.
Advance Architecture: Drive the evolution of our data platform architecture, exploring and integrating new technologies to meet future business needs.
Security Focus: Embed security best practices into all aspects of the data platform, protecting sensitive information and maintaining compliance.

Requirements

Experience: Extensive professional experience in data engineering, data platform development, or a related field.
Programming Prowess: Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or Go.
Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, including their data services.
Data Warehousing: Demonstrated experience with modern data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar.
Orchestration Tools: Proficient with data pipeline orchestration tools, for example, Apache Airflow or Dagster.
Streaming Technologies: Familiarity with real-time data streaming platforms like Apache Kafka or Kinesis is a plus.
Problem Solver: A proven track record of solving complex technical challenges with elegant and scalable data solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Security Mindset: A deep understanding of data security principles and best practices.
