Your responsibilities will encompass structural analysis, detailed coordination, precise quantity take-offs, development of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Bills of Materials (BOM), crafting technical specifications, and providing essential engineering support for all Civil Works. A significant focus of this role will be the design of reinforced concrete foundations, substructures, and Civil Works supporting Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) and Structural Steel projects. You will also provide comprehensive engineering support for complete reinforced concrete buildings and multidisciplinary construction projects as needed.
Success in this role requires a robust technical background, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to foster seamless coordination with our Structural Design, Steel Detailing, Production, Procurement, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, and Site Construction teams.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Designing reinforced concrete foundations for Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), Structural Steel Buildings, Industrial Plants, Warehouses, Factories, Commercial Buildings, and other construction projects.
- Developing designs for isolated footings, combined footings, strip footings, raft foundations, pilecaps, machine foundations, pedestals, and column necks.
- Designing reinforced concrete retaining walls, grade beams, tie beams, suspended slabs, ground slabs, staircases, ramps, equipment foundations, underground structures, and other critical reinforced concrete elements.
- Conducting thorough structural analysis and preparing comprehensive engineering calculations, design reports, and technical documentation.
- Performing foundation designs based on structural loading, geotechnical reports, soil bearing capacities, and specific project requirements.
- Preparing complete Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Bills of Materials (BOM), Material Take-Offs (MTO), and accurate quantity calculations for all Civil Works.
- Reviewing architectural, structural steel, geotechnical, survey, and MEP drawings to ensure complete and integrated engineering coordination.
- Producing construction specifications, design sketches, engineering mark-ups, and delivering expert technical recommendations.
- Coordinating anchor bolt layouts, embedded plates, sleeves, inserts, foundation elevations, and crucial interfaces with the Structural Steel Engineering team.
- Collaborating effectively with Architects, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and HVAC Engineers to ensure multidisciplinary integration and clash-free designs.
- Reviewing architectural layouts and coordinating structural requirements for internal walls, openings, service penetrations, and building utilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of proven, hands-on experience in reinforced concrete and Civil Works design is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in industrial, commercial, warehouse, factory, and infrastructure projects.
- Strong, proven experience in designing reinforced concrete foundations that support structural steel and Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB).
- A demonstrable ability to independently perform structural analysis and reinforced concrete design.
- Experience in the structural design of complete reinforced concrete buildings, including residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial developments.
- Familiarity with architectural planning, internal wall layouts, building finishes, and the intricacies of multidisciplinary coordination.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), HVAC, and Fire Protection drawings.
- A solid understanding of building services coordination and construction methodologies.
- Experience managing complete building projects from concept design through to construction phases.
- Familiarity with leading international design standards such as ACI 318, ACI 350, BS 8110, Eurocode 2, Eurocode 7, AISC, MBMA, ASCE, or equivalent.
