Overview

The Baldur squad, a vital part of Spotify's User Platform (UP), stands at the forefront of managing secure access for our global user base. We own the critical domains of Session Management and Delegated Authorization. These systems ensure that Spotify applications can safely obtain, use, and manage access tokens for hundreds of millions of users. As a Senior C++/iOS Engineer joining our team, you will significantly influence the technology enabling secure access across all Spotify clients and partner integrations. This is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity, allowing you to contribute from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely within a highly autonomous and supportive engineering squad, driving the evolution of Spotify’s delegated authorization and session management platforms.
Design, build, and continuously evolve mission critical infrastructure that powers Spotify applications and partner integrations, utilizing both shared C++ libraries and native Swift on iOS.
Develop secure, reliable, and high performance delegated authorization flows, including robust token management and secure credential handling.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Influence the architectural direction and technical roadmap for critical authorization systems across Spotify.
Engage with various stakeholders, from internal Spotify engineers building mobile and desktop experiences to third-party developers integrating with our authorization platform.

Requirements

You have substantial professional experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on C++ development.
Proven expertise in iOS development using Swift and/or Objective-C, including a deep understanding of the Apple ecosystem.
Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable distributed systems.
Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and security protocols (e.g., OAuth, OpenID Connect) is highly desirable.
You possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, thriving in a team oriented environment.
Experience working with large scale, high traffic applications, preferably in consumer facing products.
A solid understanding of system architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across various layers of the software stack.
