As a Senior Backend Software Engineer on our GRaF (Grading and Feedback) team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing the core systems that drive our educational impact.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services for the GRaF platform.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers to define, build, and ship new features and improvements.
Ensure the reliability, security, and operational excellence of our production systems.
Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and upholding high engineering standards.
Contribute to the evolution of our system architecture, making informed decisions on technology choices and design patterns.
Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language like Python, Java, Node.js, or Go.
Proven experience designing and building scalable applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Expertise in working with various database technologies, including both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a knack for tackling complex technical challenges.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively within a team.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
