Opportunity: Security Risk Assessment Consultant at Malaria Consortium
Malaria Consortium is a leading organization dedicated to reducing the burden of malaria in Nigeria. Through key initiatives like the NetWorks and MAPS programmes, as well as the upcoming 2026 Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITN) Mass Campaign, we are working tirelessly to protect vulnerable populations. To ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of these life-saving interventions, we are seeking a highly skilled Security Risk Assessment Consultant to join our team.
The Role
As a Security Risk Assessment Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in identifying operational risks and developing context-specific mitigation measures for the ITN Mass Campaign. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive desk reviews, assessing security trends, training State Security Focal Persons, and providing evidence-based recommendations to safeguard our personnel and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Security Risk Assessments (SRA) and Security Situation Analyses (SITAN).
- Analyze trends in insurgency, banditry, and local security challenges to inform operational safety.
- Develop and update security risk mitigation plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and state-level security profiles.
- Train and mentor State Security Focal Persons (SSFPs) on security review processes.
- Grade operational areas (LGAs/Wards) based on risk levels (High, Medium, Low) to guide deployment strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams, security agencies, and key stakeholders to ensure field operations are backed by robust intelligence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a relevant security-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security assessment and management within complex, challenging operational environments.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, report writing, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience operating in resource-constrained environments.
- Possession of a valid Tax Identification Number (TIN).
