About the Role
As a Security Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the Security Management Section, reporting directly to the Security Manager. You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of our contracted security force—both civil and armed—ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of safety and risk mitigation. This is an essential position that demands a leader capable of maintaining operational resilience and responding effectively to security threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the contracted security guard force, ensuring disciplined performance and adherence to security policies.
- Manage the organization’s guard room and oversee the effectiveness of physical, procedural, and technical security measures.
- Coordinate duty rosters, monitor security breaches, and assist in the management of emergency incident responses.
- Administer official records, including financial forecasting, leave tracking, and overtime management for security personnel.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the capabilities and standards of the guard force.
- Maintain the inventory and operational status of all security equipment, reporting any technical faults immediately.
Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in supervising a large security guard force, or 5 years of hands-on experience in manned guarding services.
- Leadership: Exceptional ability to lead teams, command respect, and make decisive, innovative choices under pressure.
- Local Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of Port Harcourt and its surrounding operating environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of MS Office and IT systems for reporting and administration.
- Operational Skills: Excellent attention to detail, report-writing skills, and the flexibility to work out of hours when required. Knowledge of fleet management and logistics is highly advantageous.
