Overview
As our Salesforce Developer III, you will be a pivotal force in managing and maintaining all development activities within the Carey Business School's Salesforce environment. This critical role encompasses our CRM needs for Executive Education, Partnerships, and Experiential Learning, alongside overseeing the entire platform administration. You will combine hands-on technical development with vital customer-facing responsibilities, engaging directly with internal Carey stakeholders. Your ability to scope and prioritize enhancement needs, then clearly articulate technical options to non-technical audiences, will be paramount. This position fosters close collaboration with central University Salesforce teams and reports directly to the Director of Software and IT Services.
Key Responsibilities

- Designing, developing, and implementing custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and other platform technologies.
- Managing and maintaining existing Salesforce applications and integrations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Overseeing platform administration tasks, including security settings, user management, data integrity, and configuration.
- Collaborating closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
- Providing expert analysis techniques and procedures to resolve system issues and implement robust, scalable solutions.
- Conducting thorough testing of new and upgraded applications, whether custom-built or package installations, to ensure functionality and user satisfaction.
- Documenting technical designs, processes, and user guides to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for the Salesforce environment.
- Offering production support and troubleshooting for critical system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Contributing to the strategic planning and evolution of the Salesforce platform within the Carey Business School, aligning with university-wide standards.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Significant professional experience in Salesforce development, including extensive work with Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- Proven expertise in Salesforce platform administration, covering configuration, security, data management, and release management.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse, non-technical audiences.
