Ever wondered how the future of home building could be radically transformed? Higharc is at the forefront, reimagining residential construction from the ground up, and we're looking for an exceptional Research Engineer to join our Special Projects team. This isn't your average research role; it's a chance to dive deep into uncharted territory, developing groundbreaking spatial AI that understands how homes are designed and built. If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI, eager to solve complex 3D geometric and architectural problems with no existing solutions, and ready to make a tangible impact on an industry ripe for innovation, then keep reading. We believe the biggest challenges often lead to the most exciting breakthroughs, and we’re building a team to make those happen.
Overview
Higharc is a dynamic, VC-backed startup revolutionizing the new home construction industry. Our mission is to fundamentally change how homes are designed and built, bringing together a founding team with experience from industry giants like Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Nike, and Apple. We've secured over $175M in funding from leading venture capital firms and over 18 strategic industry investors. As a Research Engineer on our Special Projects team, you'll be instrumental in developing novel approaches at the intersection of reinforcement learning, computer vision, large language models (LLMs), and 3D geometry. This is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity, inviting brilliant minds from any corner of the globe to contribute to our pioneering work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute original research in spatial reasoning, focusing on the unique challenges of residential construction.
- Design and develop advanced models that deeply understand architectural structure, the intricate spatial relationships between building components, and the precise geometric constraints governing home construction.
- Produce foundational research capabilities that power Higharc's innovative AI platform, addressing problems that do not currently exist elsewhere.
- Explore and develop novel solutions in reinforcement learning, computer vision, LLMs, and 3D geometry to solve problems where off-the-shelf solutions simply don't exist.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to translate cutting-edge research into practical applications, shaping the future of our product.
Requirements
- A strong academic or industry background in AI/ML research, with a focus on areas such as reinforcement learning, computer vision, natural language processing (specifically LLMs), or computational geometry.
- Demonstrated ability to design, conduct, and implement original research, tackling complex, unsolved problems.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for AI research, such as Python, alongside experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience working with 3D data, spatial reasoning, or geometric algorithms is highly desirable.
- A deep understanding of the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications of modern AI techniques.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proven track record of innovation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, crucial for a remote, multidisciplinary team.
What You'll Gain
- The chance to make a profound impact on an entire industry, shaping how homes are designed and built globally.
- An unparalleled opportunity to conduct groundbreaking, novel research with no existing solutions, pushing the boundaries of spatial AI.
- Work alongside a world-class team of engineers, designers, and innovators with a proven track record of shipping successful products.
- A culture that values innovation, intellectual curiosity, and rigorous research, providing the resources you need to succeed.
- Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the flexibility of a fully remote work environment.
