RES Consultant Group is on the lookout for a dedicated Remote Staff Accountant (LX1061749) to enhance our client service team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of multiple clients, acting as their trusted accounting professional.

Key Responsibilities

Skillfully manage full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of clients using both QuickBooks Online and Desktop platforms.
Execute precise monthly reconciliations, prepare accruals, draft essential journal entries, and generate comprehensive financial statements.
Construct detailed monthly sales journals by meticulously analyzing point-of-sale reports from systems like Square, Heartland, and Toast.
Accurately recognize payroll expenses by scrutinizing various payroll and POS reports from providers such as Square, Heartland, Toast, ADP, and QuickBooks.
Oversee the preparation, payment, and timely filing of multi-jurisdiction sales tax returns on a monthly or quarterly basis.
Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for your assigned clients, building strong, responsive relationships.
Collaborate effectively with our internal team to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely delivery of all accounting deliverables.
Maintain diligent tracking of your work and all client documentation within our Karbon workflow management system.
Actively support firm standards and quality control initiatives, contributing to the overall excellence of our services.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you'll need a robust background and specific skills. Here’s what we’re looking for:

5+ years of experience working in public accounting or a client-based accounting firm environment is essential.
Demonstrated strong proficiency with both QuickBooks Online and Desktop; a QBO ProAdvisor certification is a significant advantage.
A solid, comprehensive understanding of accrual accounting principles, intricate reconciliations, and the entire month-end close process.
Proven experience handling multi-jurisdiction sales tax filing, ensuring compliance across various locales.
Practical experience accurately recognizing payroll expenses from a variety of third-party reports, including Square, Toast, Heartland, and ADP.
Exceptional communication and client-service skills, enabling you to build trust and effectively convey financial information.
The ability to expertly manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines consistently.
