Key Responsibilities

You will be a central figure in managing complex regulatory litigation matters. This means working closely with our internal Legal Department and senior management. Building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with U.S. government agencies and regulatory bodies will be a key part of your portfolio.
When investigations, enforcement actions, or compliance reviews arise, particularly those touching on AML and sanctions, you will be instrumental in formulating and guiding the company’s robust response. Your expertise will directly influence the strength and effectiveness of our compliance programs.
Your insights will be crucial in advising cross-functional teams and various internal stakeholders. You will help them navigate sensitive legal obligations within the U.S., ensuring we meet every requirement with precision and foresight.
Support the preparation and submission of essential regulatory filings. You will also respond to inquiries and conduct internal investigations as necessary, ensuring a proactive and compliant approach to all regulatory demands.
Provide strategic legal counsel on the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures, especially as they relate to U.S. regulatory expectations and potential monitorship requirements.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the bar of at least one U.S. state.
A minimum of 8+ years of extensive legal experience, specifically in regulatory compliance, enforcement defense, or litigation, with a significant focus on U.S. federal agencies (e.g., DOJ, SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, OFAC).
Proven experience working with or within monitorship regimes or similar external oversight frameworks is highly advantageous.
Deep understanding of anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and sanctions regulations (e.g., BSA, OFAC).
Familiarity with financial services regulations and emerging legal issues in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry is strongly preferred.
Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable guidance.
Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. You should be adept at articulating intricate legal concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, global environment. You will work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
