Compassion International invites you to join our mission as a Regional Portfolio Lead. This unique opportunity allows you to drive strategic emergency response and disaster preparedness initiatives, funded by a vital US Government grant, truly making a difference in the lives of children and families. If you are passionate about high-quality program delivery, effective partnerships, and upholding humanitarian impact, this fully remote, worldwide role could be your next calling.

Overview

Imagine providing strategic leadership and comprehensive oversight for a critical portfolio of emergency response and disaster preparedness programs. This impactful work, supported by US Government grant funding currently approved for a one-year period, is centered on ensuring exceptional program implementation, fostering robust partner engagement, maintaining stringent donor compliance, and successfully achieving portfolio objectives across various countries in Asia. You will collaborate closely with dedicated regional and global teams, focusing on strengthening program performance, proactively managing risks, supporting essential capacity building, and advancing Compassion’s transformative ministry and humanitarian impact among vulnerable children and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, consistently witnessing His grace, demonstrating a Christ-like attitude in all interactions, and faithfully upholding Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Champion the cause of children, acting as a fervent advocate to raise awareness of their needs and embodying Christ’s mandate to protect them. Prioritize child protection and the safeguarding of all vulnerable populations in every aspect of your work.
  • Provide expert strategic guidance and comprehensive oversight for all emergency response and disaster preparedness initiatives within your assigned portfolio across Asia.
  • Ensure the highest standards of program quality, from design to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, meeting both organizational and donor expectations.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with local partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders, ensuring collaborative and effective program delivery.
  • Lead efforts to ensure strict adherence to US Government grant regulations and compliance requirements, safeguarding the integrity of all funded programs.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program and operational risks, developing robust strategies to ensure continuity and success.
  • Contribute to the professional development and capacity building of regional and country teams, enhancing their ability to deliver impactful programs.
  • Oversee budget management and resource allocation for the portfolio, ensuring efficient and responsible use of funds.
  • Represent Compassion International effectively in various forums, sharing program successes and advocating for the needs of vulnerable populations.

Requirements

  • A deep, abiding personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Compassion International’s Statement of Faith and child protection principles.
  • Significant leadership experience in humanitarian aid, emergency response, or disaster preparedness programs, particularly within the Asia region.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing US Government grants and ensuring strict donor compliance (e.g., USAID, BHA).
  • Proven track record of strategic program leadership, oversight, and effective portfolio management across multiple countries.
  • Exceptional abilities in partner engagement, capacity building, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for diverse international audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, globally distributed team environment, requiring strong self-management and collaboration tools proficiency.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Humanitarian Studies, Public Administration). A Master’s degree is often preferred.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in relevant Asian languages is a plus.

What You'll Gain

  • The profound satisfaction of directly contributing to life-changing humanitarian efforts for vulnerable children and communities across Asia.
  • An opportunity to lead and innovate within a global, faith-based organization dedicated to ending poverty in Jesus’ name.
  • The flexibility and autonomy of a fully remote role, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world.
  • Collaboration with a passionate, dedicated, and diverse team committed to a shared mission.
  • Professional growth and development in complex program management, international development, and grant compliance.
  • A chance to live out your faith while making a tangible, lasting impact.
