The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor at Craneburg Construction, you will play a critical role in the financial management of our construction projects. You will be responsible for managing all costs relating to projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Your primary goal will be to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Cost Control & Measurement: Take precise measurements of work done on-site to facilitate accurate cost control and reporting.
- Contractor Valuations: Prepare detailed and accurate valuations for various subcontractors working on-site to ensure fair and timely payment in line with contractual agreements.
- Material Monitoring: Ensure strict monitoring of vital building materials, particularly steel, cement, and other core materials used on-site, to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.
- Regulatory & Technical Compliance: Apply an in-depth knowledge of construction principles, industry guidelines, and regulatory frameworks to ensure all project estimations and measurements comply with legal and quality standards.
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Possess a Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng), or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related field.
- Work Experience: Candidates must have 3 to 5 years of active, hands-on experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or engineering sector.
- Technical Skills: Strong competency in measuring works, preparing bills of quantities, cost estimation, and analyzing commercial risks.
- Analytical Skills: Outstanding mathematical abilities combined with a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
