Key Responsibilities: Driving Excellence from Raw Material to Finished Product

As a Quality Control Officer at Recare, your expertise will be integral across our entire production lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring Impeccable Raw Material & Packaging Quality

    • Test and approve all incoming raw materials, fragrances, bottles, caps, and labels against stringent specifications.
    • Reject non-conforming batches and collaborate effectively with procurement and suppliers to implement corrective actions.
  • Vigilant In-Process Quality Checks

    • Monitor production lines meticulously for mixing, filling, capping, and labeling processes, ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Conduct essential checks on critical parameters such as pH, viscosity, color, odor, weight, and fill volume at pre-defined intervals to guarantee consistency and quality during production.
  • Rigorous Finished Product Testing

    • Sample and thoroughly test finished goods in the laboratory before granting batch release.
    • Maintain comprehensive batch records, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and ensure all NAFDAC traceability requirements are meticulously met.
  • Diligent Documentation & Compliance

    • Update QC logs, deviation reports, and non-conformance records daily with precision and accuracy.
    • Support NAFDAC inspections, internal and external audits, and assist with product registration documentation as required.
  • Championing Hygiene & GMP Enforcement

    • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), hygiene, and safety standards rigorously on the factory floor.
    • Train production staff on quality awareness and basic defect identification to foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement

    • Investigate customer complaints/returns related to product quality and recommend effective corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with R&D and Production teams to actively reduce waste, rework, and batch failures, contributing to operational efficiency and product excellence.
  • Who We Are Looking For: Requirements

    We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual who meets the following criteria:

    • Educational Background

      • A BSc or HND in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a closely related science field.
    • Professional Experience

      • 3-5 years of dedicated QC experience within the FMCG, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or food/beverage industries. Experience specifically with beauty or hair products is a significant advantage.
    • Essential Knowledge

      • Hands-on proficiency with laboratory equipment, including pH meters, viscometers, scales, and moisture analyzers.
      • Thorough knowledge of NAFDAC Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines is a mandatory requirement.
    • Core Skills & Attributes

      • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills for documentation.
      • Proven problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
      • Demonstrated integrity and the unwavering ability to say “no” to substandard batches, upholding our quality commitment.

      • Must be currently based in Lagos.
