We are currently partnering with a fast-growing Nigerian agribusiness client, and due to their ongoing expansion, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Control Officer to join their team in Zaria, Kaduna.
About the Opportunity: Quality Control Officer
This pivotal role is designed for a meticulous professional responsible for safeguarding the quality of agricultural commodities from arrival to dispatch. As a Quality Control Officer, you will be on the front line, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing goods rigorously comply with the company's stringent quality standards, thereby contributing directly to the integrity of products and the trust of customers.
Your Role and Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough commodity inspections and sampling to assess quality parameters effectively.
- Accurately measure critical quality indicators such as moisture content and impurity levels in various agricultural products.
- Prepare comprehensive and precise inspection reports, documenting findings and ensuring clarity for decision-making.
- Provide expert recommendations for the acceptance or rejection of commodities based on established quality specifications.
- Ensure unwavering compliance with all internal and external quality specifications and regulatory standards.
- Maintain meticulous inspection records, contributing to robust data management and traceability.
- Promptly report any quality concerns or deviations to relevant stakeholders, facilitating swift resolution.
Who We're Looking For:
To excel in this role, you should possess a blend of academic knowledge, practical experience, and keen analytical skills:
- A Bachelor's Degree or HND in Agriculture, Food Science, Crop Science, or a closely related scientific discipline is essential.
- You should bring 3–5 years of progressive experience in grain inspection, quality assurance, agribusiness operations, grain trading, milling, or the food manufacturing sector.
- Demonstrable knowledge of grain grading and quality assessment techniques is crucial.
- Exceptional attention to detail is paramount for accurate inspections and data recording.
- Strong reporting skills are required to communicate findings clearly and effectively.
