Role Overview

As a Quality Control Inspector, you will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards of manufacturing and fabrication that AIG is known for. Your primary focus will be supporting inspection and quality assurance activities across diverse operations, ensuring compliance with global standards, and upholding rigorous safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be entrusted with vital tasks across multiple sectors including Oil & Gas, Transmission Towers, Telecom Towers, and Solar Structures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Process Inspection: Conducting comprehensive inspection activities across various stages of fabrication and manufacturing processes, including cutting, stamping, notching, bending, heel cutting, and welded assemblies.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining precise inspection records and compiling daily quality reports aligned with specific project guidelines.
  • Technical Interpretation: Accurately interpreting shop drawings, structural drawings, welded assembly designs, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Quality Verification: Utilizing precise measuring instruments to verify product conformity to required specifications.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Supporting both internal and external quality audits, ensuring full compliance with ISO/IMS procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyzing root causes of rejections or reworks to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Safety & Workplace Standards: Promoting the 5S methodology and upholding workplace safety standards at all times.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must meet the following technical and professional criteria:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Fabrication Engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in quality control within fabrication or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of welding processes and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, such as Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • Systems Knowledge: Prior experience or familiarity with SAP or ERP systems is highly advantageous.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities.
