Overview

Supabase provides an open source Postgres development platform relied upon by millions of developers and thousands of enterprises. Our platform integrates database, authentication, storage, edge functions, realtime capabilities, and vector search, all running on a unified compute, storage, network, and control plane across every region. The most challenging problems at Supabase often originate within this platform layer. We manage millions of databases, experience compounding growth each quarter, and serve a diverse customer base ranging from individual developers on free projects to regulated enterprises utilizing features like PrivateLink. Ensuring reliability, adequate capacity, cost efficiency, and delivering essential enterprise features all depend on these core primitives. We are looking for a dedicated Product Lead to take full ownership of this critical domain.

This is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the foundational platform primitives that all Supabase products depend on, including compute, disk storage, networking, the API gateway, capacity planning, and regional expansion.
Lead the product strategy for crucial enterprise offerings built upon this infrastructure, such as read replicas, custom domains, PrivateLink, and Bring Your Own Cloud solutions.
Report directly to the Head of Product, collaborating with leads from other product lines to establish the overall strategic direction for the infrastructure area.
Serve as the primary product voice for the platform, driving initiatives and prioritizing features from a deep understanding of customer needs and technical capabilities.
Identify and address critical challenges related to reliability, scalability, cost optimization, and feature development across the platform.
Translate complex technical requirements into clear product roadmaps and specifications that drive engineering execution.

Requirements

Several years of proven experience in product management, specifically focusing on platform, infrastructure, or developer tools.
A strong understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals, including compute, storage, networking, and distributed systems.
Demonstrated ability to define and launch successful products that meet the needs of a diverse user base, from individual developers to large enterprises.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non technical audiences.
A strategic mindset with the ability to balance immediate needs with long term vision for a rapidly evolving product.
Experience working in a fast paced, high growth technology company, ideally with an open source component.
Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and leadership in an area critical to the entire business.
