About the Role
As a Procurement Engineer, you will act as the vital link between technical operations and supply chain management. You will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing essential engineering materials, machinery, equipment, and spare parts. This role offers a competitive salary range of ₦250,000 – ₦300,000 Gross and provides a platform to showcase your expertise in supply chain optimization within the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure engineering spare parts, machinery, equipment, and industrial materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage reliable local and international suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations, negotiating competitive prices and favorable payment terms.
- Prepare and process purchase orders while ensuring timely delivery to avoid operational bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Stores, Finance, and QA teams to accurately understand technical requirements.
- Review technical specifications to guarantee that all procured items meet rigorous industry standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate regular performance reports.
- Support inventory planning to ensure critical engineering items are always available when required.
- Ensure full compliance with company procurement policies, HSSE requirements, and ethical procurement practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Purchasing & Supply, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in procurement, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Acumen: Strong experience in sourcing engineering spare parts, machinery, equipment, and technical materials, with a solid understanding of technical specifications.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation, supplier management, and analytical skills. Proficiency in ERP procurement systems and Microsoft Office.
- Certifications: CIPS/CIPSMN certification is considered a strong added advantage.
