As our Principal Software Architect, you will be a pivotal, hands on individual contributor, shaping our application and platform architecture. Your work will directly drive the creation of production ready systems that power our next generation of intelligent, distributed software testing solutions. This is a 100% remote position open to talented individuals residing in the United Kingdom, Poland, or the Czech Republic.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the architectural design and evolution of Testlio's core platform and applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Drive the adoption of best practices, architectural patterns, and emerging technologies across engineering teams.
Collaborate closely with product management, engineering leads, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Act as a hands on individual contributor, prototyping, designing, and sometimes implementing critical architectural components.
Mentor and guide engineering teams on complex technical challenges, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to meet current and future architectural needs.
Ensure a balanced approach between rapid system delivery and long term enterprise scalability in all architectural decisions.
Integrate pragmatic, actionable AI capabilities into high throughput systems, moving beyond theoretical concepts to deliver tangible value.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years specifically in a software architecture role for complex, distributed systems.
Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable, high performance, and reliable cloud native architectures.
Deep understanding of architectural patterns, data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
Strong command over a modern programming language such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Ability to act as a hands on individual contributor, providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems is a significant advantage.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Residency in the United Kingdom, Poland, or Czech Republic is required for this remote role.
