We are looking for a Principal Product Security Researcher to lead our product security research function from the ground up, keeping us several moves ahead of attackers across our entire product portfolio.
This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates located in the US, Canada, and the UK.
Overview
In this role, you will map emerging threats, turn deep technical insights into actionable strategy, and ensure our products remain bulletproof. You will not just find vulnerabilities; you will anticipate them, driving proactive security measures that help our global enterprise customers eliminate risk and sleep better at night.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the product security research function end-to-end across Chainguard's entire ecosystem.
- Conduct advanced threat modeling and anticipate emerging attack vectors targeting open source software and container security.
- Translate complex threat intelligence into strategic product improvements and defensive architectures.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to bake security into our software builds from inception.
- Investigate novel security paradigms, staying well ahead of threat actors in the cloud native and AI spaces.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in product security research, offensive security, or threat intelligence within complex software environments.
- Deep understanding of open source ecosystems, cloud native architectures, and modern software supply chain security.
- Demonstrated ability to turn unstructured threat research into strategic, high-impact technical initiatives.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence technical roadmaps and mentor engineering teams.
