Role Overview
As the Principal Geologist, you will be at the forefront of CMFC's technical decision-making processes. You will provide critical technical oversight on mining evaluations, reserve analyses, exploration reviews, and geological due diligence. Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting rigorous technical assessments and geological due diligence on potential mining projects.
- Evaluating resource/reserve estimations to guarantee compliance with international standards.
- Supervising drilling contractors, technical consultants, and designated Competent Persons (CPs) across various project sites.
- Collaborating closely with the investment and finance teams to provide geological insights that inform capital structuring.
Requirements
To be successful in this highly visible and impactful role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: An Advanced Degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: Solid, progressive experience in the mining sector, demonstrating technical leadership and hands-on site evaluation skills.
- Specialization: Direct experience working with gold, precious minerals, and other metallic ores is highly preferred.
- Standards: In-depth knowledge of international reserve and resource reporting standards (such as JORC, NI 43-101, or SAMREC).
- Professional Standing: Active membership in a recognized professional geological association is mandatory.
