Key Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native applications.
Drive strategic technical initiatives, ensuring our cloud solutions align with university goals and best practices.
Mentor junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with various university stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
Establish and enforce rigorous coding standards, performance optimization techniques, and security protocols across all cloud applications.
Oversee the full software development lifecycle within a DevOps framework, emphasizing automation and efficient CI/CD pipelines.
Stay at the forefront of cloud technologies and industry trends, continuously evaluating and recommending new tools and practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing expert guidance and support when needed.

Requirements

Extensive experience, typically 8+ years, in software development with a significant focus on cloud application engineering.
Demonstrated expertise with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including serverless architectures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and managed services.
Proficiency in modern programming languages like Java, Python, C#, or Node.js.
Strong background in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
Deep understanding of database technologies, both relational and NoSQL.
Proven ability to lead technical projects, make critical design decisions, and drive solutions from concept to production.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a distributed team.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
