About the Role
We are actively seeking a skilled and experienced Power Plant Electrical Engineer to contribute to our operational excellence. This pivotal role involves the comprehensive management of our generator sets, specifically focusing on CAT and MWM gas engines. You will be instrumental in the operation, meticulous maintenance, effective troubleshooting, and continuous optimization of these critical assets within our dynamic power plant environment.
Key Responsibilities: Driving Operational Excellence
As a Power Plant Electrical Engineer, your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver on our promise of reliable power. Your responsibilities will include:
- Generator Set Management: Overseeing the daily operation and rigorous maintenance protocols for our CAT and MWM generator sets, ensuring peak performance.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Executing essential preventive and corrective maintenance activities on all electrical systems and power generation equipment.
- Fault Diagnosis & Resolution: Skillfully diagnosing electrical faults and promptly implementing effective, lasting technical solutions to minimize downtime.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously working to ensure the optimal performance and efficiency of all power plant operations.
- Monitoring & Record Keeping: Diligently monitoring electrical parameters and maintaining accurate, detailed maintenance records for compliance and analysis.
- Safety & Compliance: Upholding the highest standards of safety and ensuring strict compliance with all operational procedures.
- Support for Major Operations: Providing critical support during plant shutdowns, overhauls, and necessary upgrades.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborating seamlessly with mechanical and operations teams to achieve cohesive and superior plant performance.
Requirements: What We're Looking For
To succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Professional Experience: 4 – 7 years of proven, hands-on experience in power plant operations.
- Generator Set Expertise: Strong, practical experience with CAT and MWM generator sets, with a preference for gas engine experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electrical systems, switchgear, and control panels.
- Analytical Acumen: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to address complex electrical challenges efficiently.
