Operations and Maintenance Engineer (CNG Sector) at Ascentech Services Limited

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CNG compressor packages to ensure maximum operational uptime and minimal downtime.
- Monitor essential compressor operating parameters, including pressure, temperature, oil levels, vibration, and running hours.
- Carry out routine inspections, manage start-up and shutdown procedures, and lead emergency response activities.
- Perform comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, gas engines, motors, valves, piping, cooling, and lubrication systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, PLC, alarm, and control-system faults.
- Conduct leak detection, pressure checks, equipment isolation, depressurization, and safe restoration following maintenance work.
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment such as gas detectors, flame detectors, emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, safety valves, and gauges.
- Replace wear components and consumables including filters, seals, gaskets, hoses, spark plugs, and lubricants as required.
- Maintain meticulous operating logs, maintenance records, service history, and detailed breakdown reports.
- Monitor running-hour service intervals, spare parts inventory, lubricants, and overall maintenance requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automobile Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in CNG compressor operation and maintenance, gas compression, oil & gas, City Gas Distribution (CGD), industrial gas, or a related environment.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience specifically dedicated to reciprocating compressor maintenance and breakdown troubleshooting.
- Strong technical knowledge of compressor operations, gas engines, multistage compression, lubrication systems, cooling, and high-pressure systems.
- Demonstrated experience working with PLC/HMI-based control systems and basic electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting.
- Unwavering commitment to workplace safety with strict adherence to Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and general CNG safety procedures.
- OEM experience with major brands such as CP, Atlas Copco, KPCL, TCPL, or equivalent compressor packages is considered a strong added advantage.
- Relevant certifications in OEM procedures, CNG safety, fire & gas systems, LOTO, first aid, vibration analysis, or reliability maintenance are highly desirable.
