Overview
If you have spent years deep in the weeds of theoretical physics and want to use that heavy-duty knowledge to shape tomorrow's technology, we have a fascinating project for you. micro1 is looking for specialized Physics Experts focusing on statistical physics, quantum information, and condensed matter. You will be helping train cutting-edge artificial intelligence systems to understand and reason through advanced physical concepts. No prior machine learning background is necessary because your pure domain expertise is the secret sauce here. This is a fully remote contractor position open to talented physicists anywhere in the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and break down complex statistical physics phenomena, specifically looking at replicated random bond Ising and Ashkin Teller models, the toric code threshold, and the Nishimori line.
- Deliver crystal clear, thoroughly documented solutions and critiques addressing Kramers Wannier duality, quenched disorder averaging, square lattice self duality, and domain wall free energy.
- Run advanced numerical simulations, particularly diving into 4-state Potts model simulations and interpreting the resulting data.
- Spot, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate technical challenges alongside a collaborative team of researchers and engineers.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Physics, such as a PhD or Master's, with a strong focus on statistical physics, quantum information, or condensed matter.
- Deep working knowledge of theoretical frameworks including random bond systems, topological error correction thresholds, and phase transitions.
- Hands-on experience with numerical simulations and advanced computational physics methods.
- Strong technical writing and problem-solving skills to explain complex physical proofs and derivations clearly.
What You'll Gain
- The chance to directly influence the reasoning capabilities of next-generation artificial intelligence models.
- Flexible, fully remote work where you can collaborate with top-tier minds from across the globe.
- Competitive contractor compensation that honors your specialized academic and research background.
