Pain Consultant (Remote, Ireland)
Living with persistent pain wears people down. Many individuals who seek our help have spent years bouncing between specialist referrals, heavy prescriptions, and invasive therapies that barely take the edge off. Montu UK is stepping in to provide real clinical answers when conventional medicine falls short. As one of the largest medical cannabis providers in the UK, we are actively looking for compassionate Pain Management Consultants to join our clinical team. While this role supports our patients across the region, this is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity that gives you the freedom to practice modern, impactful medicine from wherever you work best.
Overview
In this position, you will evaluate and guide patients who are seeking alternatives through cannabis based medicinal products. You will review their clinical history, determine if this therapeutic path is safe and appropriate, and support their ongoing journey. You do not need any prior background in prescribing medical cannabis. What matters most is your clinical grounding in pain management, your dedication to patient safety, and an open mind toward an evolving area of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Your day will centre around meaningful patient conversations and sound clinical governance.
- Conduct thorough remote consultations with patients living with complex chronic pain.
- Assess medical histories, previous treatments, and symptom patterns to determine suitability for cannabis based medicines.
- Formulate personalised treatment regimens and issue prescriptions in alignment with UK regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust dosages, and conduct follow up appointments to evaluate long term efficacy.
- Engage with the wider multidisciplinary team to share clinical observations and uphold rigorous standards of patient care.
Requirements
We are seeking dedicated physicians who bring curiosity and grounded decision making to the table.
- Specialist registration as a Consultant in Pain Medicine or a related discipline with documented expertise in chronic pain.
- Active, unencumbered medical registration and licence to practice.
- Demonstrated clinical judgement in handling complex, treatment resistant pain presentations.
- Comfortable working via modern telehealth tools and electronic health record systems.
- Genuine interest in learning the science behind cannabinoid therapy through our structured induction program.
What You Will Gain
Joining our clinical group means expanding your horizons within a fast advancing sector.
- Comprehensive initial training and ongoing education covering the pharmacology and clinical application of cannabis based medicines.
- Complete autonomy and schedule flexibility supported by a fully remote workflow.
- The professional reward of bringing tangible relief to patients who had exhausted their healthcare options.
- The chance to play a foundational role in shaping how modern pain clinics integrate novel therapies.
