Are you a highly experienced Ops Engineer looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Ops Engineer to join our dynamic team at CSG. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your deep expertise in Mainframe Batch Operations and system reliability, contributing to critical infrastructure on a global scale. This role is fully remote, welcoming applications from talented individuals no matter where you call home.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the strategic design and implementation of operational frameworks, including system architecture and infrastructure initiatives.
Continuously seek out and identify opportunities for enhancing system performance, driving automation efforts, and optimizing operational workflows.
Expertly manage and swiftly resolve critical incidents, meticulously conduct post-incident analyses, and champion long-term reliability enhancements.
Work closely with our development teams, embedding best practices for seamless software deployment and robust application maintenance.
Serve as a go-to subject matter expert in system reliability, readily sharing your knowledge and providing mentorship and training to our junior engineers.
Oversee complex mainframe batch operations, expertly managing intricate batch flows using scheduling tools like CA-7, TWS/OPC, or IZWS.
Represent our operations teams during high-pressure crisis calls, providing clear and concise batch status updates.
Troubleshoot and effectively resolve abended batch jobs, ensuring minimal disruption to critical processes.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, an equivalent technical field, or demonstrably strong professional experience.
At least five years of progressive experience in an operations or site reliability engineering role.
Profound expertise in Mainframe Batch Operations, with a proven track record of managing complex batch flows using scheduling tools such as CA-7, TWS/OPC, or IZWS.
Exceptional knowledge of JCL, SDSF, ISPF, CA7, TWS/OPC/IZWS, VSAM, and Cobol.
A strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot abended batch jobs efficiently.
Excellent communication skills, crucial for representing operations teams in high-stakes situations and providing clear updates.
