Overview

Rackspace US, Inc. seeks an accomplished Network Architect to provide strategic architecture, design, and technical direction for our global data center and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure. This role holds a primary focus on supporting our diverse healthcare customer environments. You will act as the senior technical authority for data center fabric and WAN transport, including developing the high-bandwidth, low-latency network underlay essential for High Performance Compute (HPC) and other data-intensive workloads. We need someone who can translate complex healthcare business, clinical, and regulatory requirements into network architectures that are scalable, resilient, and secure. Please note, this position focuses on the connectivity fabric delivering bandwidth and throughput to compute and storage platforms, rather than the design or administration of HPC compute clusters themselves.

This is a US remote position, offering a flexible work-from-home setup with up to 25% travel. While this specific role targets US-based talent, Rackspace champions a global, remote-friendly culture.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the strategic architecture and design for Rackspace's global data center and WAN infrastructure, with a specialized focus on healthcare clients.
Serve as the principal technical expert for data center fabric and WAN transport solutions.
Design and implement high-bandwidth, low-latency network underlays to support HPC and various data-intensive applications.
Translate intricate healthcare business, clinical, and regulatory needs into robust, secure, and scalable network architectures.
Cultivate strong relationships and act as a liaison with key vendors and third-party providers.
Collaborate closely with our engineering, security, and customer teams, guiding the network's strategic evolution across highly available, compliance-driven healthcare infrastructure.

Requirements

A proven track record as an expert within the field of network architecture and design.
Extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic network solutions for large-scale environments.
Deep understanding of data center networking technologies, WAN architectures, and high-performance network design.
Familiarity with the unique demands of high-performance computing (HPC) network requirements.
