About the Role

Slum2School Africa is seeking a dynamic, analytical, and purpose-driven Monitoring and Evaluation (MEL) Manager to join our volunteer-driven organization. Since our founding in 2012, we have been dedicated to transforming society by empowering disadvantaged children in slums and indigent communities. As the MEL Manager, you will play a pivotal role in embedding a culture of evidence, accountability, and learning within our programs to ensure we deliver high-impact results for the children we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic MEL Frameworks: Design, implement, and manage comprehensive systems to track program performance, including needs assessments (PESTLE, SWOT, Gap Analysis) and results-based management frameworks.
Data Management: Lead the development of robust digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK) and ensure 95% data accuracy and completeness across all program components.
Reporting & Insights: Prepare high-quality reports for donors and stakeholders, conduct mixed-method analyses, and facilitate evidence-based decision-making for leadership.
Team Leadership: Mentor and lead the MEL team, providing training on data collection protocols, safeguarding compliance, and analytical tools to foster a performance-driven culture.
Learning & Improvement: Institutionalize a culture of continuous improvement by documenting best practices and facilitating structured learning sessions for staff and volunteers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education, or Project Management (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
3-5 years of experience coordinating programs in the non-profit or development sector.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is mandatory; knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or statistical software (SPSS, R, Stata) is a plus.
Proven ability to design M&E frameworks, theories of change, and manage donor-funded project compliance.
Strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills with a commitment to child protection and educational impact.
Familiarity with the Nigerian NGO landscape and experience working with community structures.
