Role Overview
As a Community Mobilization Assistant, you will act as the primary field focal person, bridging the gap between our organization and the communities we serve. You will work closely with the Cash Transfer/Community Mobilization Coordinator to facilitate essential support, including beneficiary registration, community sensitization, and post-distribution monitoring. Your work will directly ensure that our humanitarian aid reaches those who need it most while maintaining the highest standards of accountability and protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Engagement: Actively mobilize stakeholders and conduct sensitization sessions to foster community ownership of projects.
- Data Management: Lead transparent beneficiary registration and verification processes, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Accountability and Safeguarding: Uphold PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards, manage feedback mechanisms, and advocate for vulnerable populations.
- Field Monitoring: Document success stories, monitor project impact, and submit timely reports to ensure organizational transparency.
- Project Implementation: Participate in planning sessions and support the execution of cash transfer activities in line with donor requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
We are looking for candidates who combine academic grounding with practical field experience. To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Diploma, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Administration, or related fields.
- At least 2 years of experience in humanitarian or development programming, particularly in community mobilization or cash assistance.
- Proficiency in mobile data collection tools like KoboToolbox or ODK is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English and local languages relevant to the duty LGA.
- A commitment to humanitarian principles and the ability to travel extensively within the assigned area.
