Opportunity: Manager, Field Operations (MLE), West & Central Africa

Evidence Action, a global organization dedicated to scaling proven interventions that improve the lives of millions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Field Operations (MLE). This critical role supports the Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MLE) operations across our West and Central African programs, specifically within Nigeria, Liberia, and Cameroon.

About the Role

This is a one-year contract position designed for a strategic leader who excels in data-driven environments. The successful candidate will oversee program research and learning, coordinate MLE support, lead monitoring plan development, and act as a primary liaison between government stakeholders and internal teams. You will ensure that data quality remains at the highest standard while managing field systems that enable Evidence Action to scale effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Coordination: Streamline MLE activities for cost-efficiency and impact; facilitate data-driven decision-making within program teams.
Data Oversight: Lead quantitative and qualitative data collection objectives, manage databases, and ensure rigorous adherence to best practices for field data collection.
Team Leadership: Manage country field operations teams, lead recruitment and onboarding efforts, and foster professional development for staff within the sub-region.
Budget & Vendor Management: Oversee MLE expenditures and source/manage external vendors to achieve program goals within scope and timeline.
Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Evidence Action in high-level meetings with government and implementing partners.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field (Public Health, Development Economics, or Statistics).
Experience: 7+ years of M&E experience in the West and Central Africa region, with at least 4 years managing large teams and data collection protocols.
Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and French is a key requirement.
Technical Skills: Proven experience using electronic data collection platforms, particularly Survey CTO.
Professional Traits: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, ability to multitask under pressure, and a deep commitment to Evidence Action's mission.
