About the Role: Mill Fitter
We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Mill Fitter to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our industrial machinery, minimizing downtime, and contributing directly to our production excellence. You will work alongside talented production and maintenance professionals in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation of mill equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs promptly.
- Maintain and replace bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, rollers, and other mechanical components.
- Support equipment installation, alignment, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance activities strictly comply with safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: HND or B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of prior professional experience. Relevant experience working in a steel, manufacturing, rolling mill, or industrial environment will be a distinct advantage.
- Technical Skills: Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance and industrial equipment.
- Competencies: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
