The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer at AIG, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that our plant machinery functions at peak reliability and efficiency. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of production by leading maintenance initiatives and driving technical excellence across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute comprehensive preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for all plant machinery.
- Ensure maximum equipment availability, diagnosing failures rapidly to minimize downtime.
- Manage complex mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, thermal oil, and compressed air.
- Oversee maintenance for critical hardware such as hot/cold presses, peeling lines, conveyors, boilers, and dust collection systems.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to solve persistent technical issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate the procurement of essential components.
- Champion Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards throughout all maintenance activities.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and coordinate effectively with the production team for planned shutdowns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 – 8 years of proven experience in manufacturing industries such as steel, plywood, wood processing, cement, or FMCG.
- Advanced technical knowledge of gearboxes, bearings, welding, fabrication, and utility systems (boilers, compressors, pumps).
- Demonstrated experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills combined with effective team management abilities.
