As a Marketing Specialist, you'll join MZLA Technologies Corporation, the dedicated team driving Thunderbird's evolution, where we craft communication tools that prioritize user privacy and data control. Our agile, fully distributed team, currently comprising more than 65 talented individuals across seven different countries, is at a pivotal moment. Thunderbird is transforming beyond its desktop roots, venturing into mobile platforms and introducing innovative paid services. This expansion aims to build robust, privacy-respecting alternatives to the dominant big tech ecosystems. Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies designed to increase awareness and adoption of Thunderbird across its expanding product suite, including desktop, mobile, and paid services.
Craft compelling, on-brand content for various channels, such as blog posts, social media, email newsletters, and website copy, always highlighting our unique value proposition of privacy and open source.
Manage and optimize digital marketing campaigns, including social media campaigns, community outreach programs, and email marketing efforts, to engage our existing user base and attract new users.
Monitor market trends, conduct competitive analysis, and gather user feedback to identify opportunities for growth and refine our marketing approaches.
Collaborate closely with product development, design, and community teams to ensure consistent messaging and successful product launches.
Analyze marketing campaign performance using relevant metrics, providing regular reports and actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
Act as an advocate for Thunderbird, fostering strong relationships with our global community, media, and partners.
Contribute to defining and maintaining Thunderbird’s brand voice and visual identity across all marketing materials.

Requirements

Proven experience in a marketing role, ideally within a tech company, open-source project, or a privacy-focused organization.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns across multiple digital channels.
Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting data to inform marketing decisions and demonstrate ROI.
Experience with various marketing tools and platforms (e.g., email marketing software, social media management tools, analytics platforms).
A genuine passion for open source, user privacy, and digital independence.
Self-motivated and highly organized, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a globally distributed team.
