About the Role: Manager, Software Development

The Laivly team is searching for a Manager, Software Development to guide a talented group of software engineers. This team focuses on building scalable, high quality features for our cutting edge AI software platform. As Manager, Software Development, you will blend strong people leadership skills with deep technical expertise, enabling your team to achieve their absolute best work. You will coach and develop individual Software Developers, diligently remove obstacles, drive technical execution, and collaborate closely with Product and other Engineering teams. Together, you will transform ambitious concepts into reliable, production ready software. This is a hands on leadership position perfect for someone who enjoys tackling complex problems and building robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire a high performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Actively identify and remove technical and organizational roadblocks to ensure smooth project progression.
Drive technical excellence and uphold high standards for software quality, performance, and scalability.
Collaborate effectively with Product Management and other Engineering teams to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver features.
Contribute to architectural discussions and technical strategy for our core AI platform.
Ensure timely and successful delivery of complex software projects.
Participate in the hiring process, helping to grow our talented engineering organization.

Requirements

Proven experience in a software development leadership role, such as Manager, Lead, or Architect.
Strong background in software engineering, ideally with experience in AI, machine learning, or scalable distributed systems.
Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop software engineers.
Excellent problem solving skills and a track record of delivering high quality solutions.
Proficiency in modern software development practices, including agile methodologies.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working across diverse teams.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
