Overview

We are looking for a Manager, Safety Analytics to lead our vital Scaled Abuse Countermeasures and Research (SCAR) team. This fully remote, worldwide opportunity means you can make a global impact from wherever you are. The SCAR team is at the forefront of protecting Discord's platform. They detect, analyze, and actively disrupt high-volume threats, combining sophisticated automated systems with deep investigative research and swift incident response. You will report directly to our Head of Safety Intelligence and Automation, driving the strategy that keeps our community safe.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire a diverse team of data analysts, scientists, and researchers.
Guide investigations into active threats and complex abuse vectors.
Uncover adversarial patterns and develop proactive countermeasures.
Define and execute a strategic roadmap for platform integrity.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and policy teams to implement safety solutions.
Oversee the development and improvement of automated threat detection systems.

Requirements

Proven leadership experience managing data analytics, data science, or research teams.
Strong background in data analysis, statistics, and identifying complex patterns.
Experience in the Trust & Safety or online platform integrity domain is highly desirable.
Ability to define and articulate a clear strategic vision.
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex findings to diverse audiences.
A passion for creating safe online spaces and protecting user communities.
Proficiency with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and analytical tools.
