Overview

As our new Documentation Manager, you will take the reins of a growing team responsible for keeping Datadog Docs accurate, engaging, and clear. You will dive into source code, test out new product features, and talk directly with subject matter experts. Your leadership will ensure that users, developers, and reliability engineers have the precise resources they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Manage three to five technical writers, guiding their daily tasks and helping them build effective project plans.
Support formal career growth and professional development for your direct reports while fostering a positive team culture.
Collaborate closely with product and engineering groups to maintain stellar public documentation for APIs, SDKs, and developer tools.
Experiment hands-on with the Datadog platform, review source code, and interview internal experts to gather vital information.

Requirements

Proven experience leading or managing technical writing teams within the software or cloud technology industry.
Strong familiarity with APIs, SDKs, and modern developer tools.
A hands-on mindset with the willingness to explore code and test software products.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring writers.
