The Opportunity: Maintenance Manager, Production Department
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Manager to lead our Production Department's maintenance efforts. This role is far more than just fixing equipment; it's about safeguarding our capacity to deliver essential nutrition. As Maintenance Manager, you will be the linchpin in ensuring our production equipment, machinery, and facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently, underpinning our commitment to those we serve.
Overall Mission:
Your primary objective will be to plan, direct, and oversee all maintenance activities, focusing on:
- Implementing robust preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Exercising stringent cost control and optimizing spare parts management.
- Driving lean manufacturing initiatives and fostering continuous improvement.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities and What You'll Do:
Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate all maintenance processes and operations, empowering your team to excel.
- Strategically allocate work assignments, set clear repair schedules, and balance priorities to meet production deadlines.
- Maintain constant, effective communication with area leaders to seamlessly align maintenance activities with production needs.
- Ensure all maintenance personnel strictly adhere to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of safety.
Maintenance Planning & Execution:
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and longevity.
- Plan and manage all repair, installation, and routine maintenance activities for production equipment and facilities, ensuring operational excellence.
- Guarantee that all machinery operates at required safety and performance standards, contributing to product quality and safety.
- Conduct routine production maintenance to proactively minimize breakdowns and costly downtime.
- Assign repair schedules efficiently and critically evaluate repair cost estimates for effectiveness and accuracy.
Inspection, Monitoring & Compliance:
- Conduct and oversee regular, thorough inspections of facilities and equipment to promptly identify faults and maintenance needs.
- Proactively detect, troubleshoot, and swiftly resolve maintenance-related issues.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of both preventive and corrective maintenance activities for compliance and future planning.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Monitor raw material price movements, advising management on potential cost risks, opportune buying windows, and strategic procurement timing.
- Identify significant cost-saving opportunities through alternative sourcing, fostering supplier competition, substitution, consolidation, bulk buying, and improved payment terms.
- Develop robust supply risk mitigation plans, including dual sourcing strategies, safety stock levels, alternative supplier readiness, and comprehensive contingency procurement plans.
- Support meticulous landing cost analysis for imported materials, encompassing freight, customs, clearing charges, duties, insurance, and foreign exchange exposure.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management:
- Oversee equipment and spare parts inventory with precision and foresight.
- Manage spare parts stock levels meticulously to ensure immediate availability while preventing costly overstocking.
- Initiate and monitor orders for replacement parts, tools, and maintenance supplies as needed, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
Continuous Improvement & Engineering Support:
- Actively contribute to improved equipment design and optimized manufacturing processes.
- Support engineering and production teams by providing invaluable maintenance expertise and data-driven recommendations for reliability enhancements.
- Champion best practices and standardized maintenance procedures across the department, driving efficiency and consistency.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Meticulously document daily maintenance activities, progress updates, and equipment status.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, breakdown reports, and detailed spare parts usage data.
- Provide insightful performance reports highlighting downtime analysis, achieved cost savings, and the effectiveness of preventive maintenance initiatives to management.
What We're Looking For:
- Educational Background: A Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Professional Experience: 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in maintenance management or senior maintenance supervision within a dynamic industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Language & Computer Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language. Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- Essential Skills & Competencies:
- Strong foundational knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance systems.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management, effective cost control, and strategic spare parts inventory management.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage external contractors, and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional departments.
- Solid understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and regulatory compliance, with a commitment to safety.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills, enabling data-driven decision-making.
